Daily Devotional: February 15 – Your Friends

She shall be brought to the King in robes of many colors; the virgins, her companions who follow her, shall be brought to You – Psalm 45:14

Who are your companions? Are they virgins who have a pure mind and live a set-apart life in all aspects of life, or are they fornicators who have a filthy mind and whose sole focus and love are idols such as money, material things? The people we choose as companions matter! If we choose rightly, then we give ourselves a good chance of living a palatial life. If we choose wrongly, we might end up living a life of spiritual, mental, and physical poverty. Take a moment to think of your friends. Are they sharpening you (Proverbs 27:17)? Do they care for you regardless of the circumstance (Proverbs 17:17)? Can you be transparent with them (John 15:15) without worrying about your trust being violated? Ask God to give you good companions with whom you can enter into the presence of God. Seek out friendships that honors God and choose not to settle for less than God’s best in your relationships.

I choose to only go around with people with godly minds and intentions
