He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord – Psalm 112:7
In movies, you hear actors say, ‘I have come in the name of the king.” What they mean is that they have come according to the will and instruction of the king. So, when we say blessed be the name of the LORD, it is not just praise towards God, but it is a reminder to us that the will of God is indeed blessed and that we should do it. David said: Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and forever. Like David, we too should purpose in our heart that we will consider the will of God blessed from this day forward and realize that our own will does not bring blessings. Having this attitude drives us to get closer to God and to know His will. It drives us to develop those spiritual disciplines that we can so easily neglect when the busyness of life kicks in. Not your name but His name. Not your will but His will.
Not my own will but the will of God is blessed
