Daily Devotional: February 18 – Happy Day

Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in all the earth – Psalm 46:10

When you watch or listen to the news, it can seem as if the world is becoming more wicked by the day. It can seem as if there is no hope for the righteous. It can seem as if evil is winning out and the good are punished for being just. When we feel overwhelmed about the state of things, we should lay still and consider that God is still on the throne and sees all that is happening. We should not take His inaction towards evildoers as apathy. He is patient towards evil perpetrators on the earth because His heart is that none perish but that all should come to repentance. He wants those who are perpetrating evil to call out to Him in a time when He may be found. Still, He will not always be patient with evildoers but will work justice for the righteous. In the appointed time, He will show Himself to be God – just and righteous. He will deliver the righteous from all their troubles and He will be exalted in all the earth. What a happy day that will be

God is watching, and His people win in the end
