Daily Devotional: March 29 – Benefits Focus

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loads us with benefits – Psalm 68:19

God’s blessing towards us is not old and stale but is new every morning. The question is not whether they are there, the question is whether we appreciate them and reach out to grab them. What stops us from grabbing today’s benefits is an incessant focus on the past and the future. Being preoccupied by what happened yesterday distracts us from seizing and enjoying the blessings of today. Similarly, we can become paralyzed by the fear of uncertainty when we think of the future. How should we handle the past and future? Apostle Paul tells us to forget about what is behind (Philippians 3:13) and Jesus tells us not to worry about tomorrow (Matthew 6:34). Our focus should be on today and the benefits the Lord burdens (loads) us with. Yes, the Lords benefits are so plentiful that it can be a burden to remember When we choose to count the daily benefits God bestows on us, we forget the past, focus on the present, and get excited about the future. Focus on today’s benefits and you will secure a bright future for yourself.

I will not dwell on the past, whether good or bad, but live to enjoy God’s benefit today
