Unleash Your Superpower

Super refers to ‘God’ while power refers to ‘ability’. Therefore, you superpower is your God-given ability. It is that gift that you have. It is something you have an natural affinity to do. It is effortless and it comes naturally to you.

The bible says that a mans gift makes room for him and brings him before great men (Proverbs 18:16). This means that if you want to become a person of influence, then you must not neglect your natural talent.

Today, too many people bury their natural talent and simply use their training. In fact, this is encouraged in many places around the world especially if the society does not have a market or an infrastructure that supports the gift.

While location was a limiting factor a number of years ago, it no longer is. With the advent of social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube etc), all that is required is a phone that has internet connectivity and access to an app store. With this, anyone can showcase their talent to anyone in the world.

So, if is not access to local markets, there must be something else that stops people from unleashing their superpower. What is it? It is nothing other than fear – fear of failing, fear of the unknown, fear of disappointing, fear of rejection.

Fear is the ultimate dream killer…and it is not of God. Indeed, the bible tells us that God has not given us a Spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7)

Therefore, an effective way to get rid of fear is to silence every other voice other than that of the Spirit of God. It is to realize that the power does not belong to us but it belongs to the Spirit of God living in us. Our job is to obey (go forth) and it is the Spirit’s job to accomplish.

We need to get out of the way and let the Spirit of God operate within us. When we do this, the Spirit of God is released and our superpower is unleased.

So, what is your superpower? Don’t listen to any voices that tell you that it is silly and no one will care. Remember, that even the gift of laughter have changed the hearts of men and saved lives before. It is your job to love others by making it available in the market place. And it is the God’s job to accomplish more than what you could ever have imagined through it.

So stir up that gift and let the world see your superpower.

Where Are You: At the cross or in the throne room?

I have seem some T-shirts that say ‘Stand for the flag and kneel for the cross‘. The picture on the T-shirt shows the American flag and then a picture of three crosses with a guy kneeling in front of them.

When I saw this, I wondered if people actually understand what we actually have to do at the cross.

The cross is a symbol of what Jesus did for us, but it is also a symbol of what we should do daily. Let me explain

Jesus said to pick up our cross daily and follow him (Luke 9:23). In saying this, he is telling us that we need to crucify our flesh (that part of us that contrary to God) daily. Why? Because only by crucifying our flesh will we end up where he ended up…raised up and in the throne room of God. In other words, we are to crucify our flesh daily so that we can experience the riches of the presence of God in our lives.

The cross is the gateway to the throne room of God

Thus we are not meant to kneel at the cross but we are meant to nail ourselves to the cross.

In his letter to the church in Galatia, Apostle Paul says, ” I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me…” In other words, because he has also crucified his flesh, the life of Christ is able to be manifested outwardly through him.

To crucify our flesh means that life is no longer about us. It is about loving God and loving others. It means we have humbled ourselves to God’s purpose for our lives (what he desire of our lives).

What kind of life do we end up with after we crucify our flesh? It is the abundant life that Jesus promised (John 10:10). It is the life filled with love, joy, peace, patience etc. It is the life of nothing missing and nothing broken. It is the life of solid relationships and healed marriages.

This is the kind of life that God has in store for us today. It is the kind of life we have access to so long as we determine to crucify our flesh on the cross.

So here is what I say. Don’t just kneel at the cross. Make sure you nail yourself to the cross. God is honored more when we nail ourselves on the cross rather than kneel at it. It’s going to cost you your pride and ego, but it is the best life available.

The cross is a reminder for us to die to humble ourselves and be obedient. It is call for us to crucify our pride, ego, selfishness and all those yucky parts of our flesh daily.

Are You A Listener Or A Learner?

Jesus preached to huge crowds when he walked this earth (remember the feeding of the 5000 and 4000). The bible also tells us that his fame grew and that multitudes followed him. Yet, after about 3 years of hitting the road, speaking to people, and performing unbelievable miracles, we are only aware of him having 500 disciples (of which he chose 12 as his Apostles).

Thus, while there were many who heard the truth and knew the truth, there were only a handful of them that became his disciples. (The word disciple means learner or follower of Jesus).

Note: Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). Hence, I am using Jesus and truth interchangeably.

A listener knows the truth but a learner follows the truth

If you don’t choose the way, you can’t follow the truth. And if you don’t follow the truth, you won’t live the life

If you are a listener and not a learner, then know that you probably won’t live the best life. Here is how Jesus puts it: By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit, so you will be my disciples. Another way of saying this is that only disciples bear fruit, and that a fruit-bearing (productive) life is what honors God.

It’s not what you know that counts, it is what you do with what you know that counts

This is why it does little good to memorize the whole bible and be able to quote it backwards without applying it. This is like having a weapon that you never use. If you do not use your weapon, don’t be surprised if enemies overrun your territory and steal the life you were meant to live.

It’s time to live your best life. It’s time to stop being someone that can tell other people about God. It is time to be that person that can tell people all of the awesome things God is doing in your life. Do it by resolving to be a learner today.

My challenge: Don’t just listen to hear…listen to learn.

Is God A Republican Or A Democrat?

Here in America, it seems as if everything is analyzed through the lens of political affiliation. Not even God escapes the labeling. Here in the South, I have heard people refer to the Republican Party as the God party, mainly based on the politics of abortion and same-sex marriage. The rebuttal I have heard from those who lean towards the Democratic party is that essence of Christianity is love and acceptance.

So who is right? Does God lean towards Republicans or Democrats?

According to Jesus, all the law and prophets boil down to two great commands. The first is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. The second is to love our neighbors as ourselves (Mark 12:30-31). What cannot be argued is that both these commands involve LOVE – love for God and love for mankind.

This love – both for God and for mankind – is clearly displayed on the cross. The vertical section of the cross is for vertical relationship between man and God, while the horizontal section of the cross represents the horizontal relationship between man and man. Jesus was able to love both God and man…not one or the other.

Today, its seems that those who have politicized God believe you have to choose between one or the other. Generally, those who believe the Republican party to be the God party emphasize the vertical relationship while those on the Democratic party emphasize the horizontal relationship. The only problem with this is that Jesus emphasized BOTH.

Without putting both the vertical and horizontal together (love for God and man), what you have are just two individual columns (a vertical one or a horizontal one). To truly have a cross and reflect the heart of God requires that you bring both together.

This is why when people ask me the question, are you a Democrat or Republican, my answer is simple: I am neither. My identity is not wrapped up in the political left or right. Why? God is so beyond our human political constructs and God existed before man dreamed of political labels.

I am governed by a King called Jesus. So I guess you can say I live under a government authority, where He is my Lord. So if you ask me whether which way I lean (Democrat or Republican), my answer is super simple…it depends on the topic.

I am not a Democrat, Republican, Independent, or whatever other label. I am a Christ follower whose goal is to love both God and people. Both are not mutually exclusive but complimentary. The more I love God, the more I love people. After all, God’s heart in coming to the world is for people (even those that crucified Him on the cross).

Respond Well To COVID-19: Stand In The Present and Prepare For Your Future

During these times of uncertainty with COVID-19, it can be easy to be paralyzed with fear. It is easy to be overwhelmed with the myriad of opinions and facts in the news. It can be jarring when you go to the market and can’t find items for you home…

To make things worse, you don’t know what is true and what is not…which only makes you more afraid. Perhaps you are waiting and anxious to see what is going to happen and how it is going to affect the population, your business, and the broader economy. You have questions: Will I be safe? Will it be like another Italy? What about my job? Will my business survive?

I am not immune to these concerns but I do want to share something that works for me and will work for you: Instead of worrying about the future, I stand in the present and prepare for the future.

Note: If you are really struggling with fear to the point of panic, I want you to watch a video I recorded on standing in the truth. You can find it on my home page: http://www.richbeyondwealthsystem.com ( watch before March 17) or directly on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emuIKcIPvic

Instead of blaming life for what it gives you, concentrate your energy on making the best of whatever you have. A wise man once said to me: If life gives you manure, make sure you use it to fertilize the land and grow a farming business. It is another way of saying, if life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

Another wise person said: It is not what happens to you that matters, it is what happens in you that matters. Most people survive what happens to them, but many never recover from what happens in them.

There are two things that can happen to you in this moment – fear or faith.

Fear will paralyze you with inaction, but faith will propel you to action.

I want you to choose faith.

Here are the faithful actions I want you to take to stand in the present and prepare for the future:

Stand In The Present:

  • Care: Take all the personal precautions that you can possibly take – practice social distancing (make sure people work from him if possible), sanitize surfaces you touch often, and wash your hands often. For the best information, go to http://www.cdc.gov
  • Communicate: Talk to the people that you lead and serve. Let them know that you care about them and also let them know of the precautions you are taking. Be authentic in your communication BUT make sure you keep them informed. Be honest if there are going to be delays in anything you promised
  • Compassion: The people you are leading and serving may be struggling. If it is in your power to help and add value, do it now. This will mean the world to them. For example, if you are a landlord, you may give additional time for payment or waive the late payment fee.

Prepare for the future:

  • Trim: It is time to take a look at what you are doing and trim away those things that are adding little value. Remember the Pareto Principle: Only 20% of your activities is generating 80% of the value. That means there is some fat that you can trim. Trim that fat the costs you the most and is not bringing much benefit.
  • Try: Times of trouble and uncertainty unwittingly become times of creativity and innovation. You have to do things that maybe you haven’t done before. So be creative and innovative. For example, if you are a brick and mortar business with no online presence, this is the time to start thinking of the possibility of an online presence. Okay, let me be clearer…you NEED to have on online presence for your business

Hope this has been helpful. And remember, this too shall pass!!!

A Simple Code to Live By That Will Make You Successful In Anything

History tells of a man called Joshua who went from being a man of obscurity to a man of great success. He went from being a ‘bag carrier’ to a man who conquered numerous lands. He successfully resettled over 2 million people from living in a place of poverty to a place filled with prosperity. Not bad huh!

He did not achieve this feat by sheer luck or will power. He did not do it by working himself to the ground.

He did it by following by living by this simple sentence, which he tells us in his book

Do not allow inspired words slip by; churn them over in your mind until they get in your heart and they become a part of you; then do what they say once you truly understand them.

What you need to know is that Joshua was not the originator of this motto. He heard them from someone…before he became successful. The one who told him assured him that if he would become prosperous and successful if he lived by this code.

Since it worked for Joshua, I decided to live by this code and it has made a HUGE difference in my life. Here is how I have implemented the code

(1) I Read Inspired Books: Something happens when I read an inspired book. I am more upbeat, get new ideas, think creatively, and get clear and focused. The key for me is to read a high quantity of high quality books. I have found out that there are really nothing new under the sun…just things repackaged. If you want to move towards success in any area, you must move away from ignorance in that area.

(2) I Let The Books Inspire Change In Me: I not only read books, I let books read me. That just means I allow the books I read to inform me of what I am doing wrong. I don’t just read them and put them away. And I don’t just think of them once…I think of them until they become part of me. If you want to be successful, you shouldn’t just read for information, you should read for transformation.

(3) I do What I Learn: This part was the most difficult part for me. Before I could transition from knowing to doing, I had to get rid of my limiting beliefs and excuses. I was a professional excuse maker but it got me nowhere. So I had to get rid of ‘because’ and ‘but’. If you want to be successful, the you have to get your ‘but’ out of the way and JUST DO IT.

Thanks for reading. If you don’t know were to start, you can pick up some FREE resources on my website: http://www.richbeyondwealthsystem.com

Have a great day

3 Simple Secrets On How Anyone Can Build Wealth and Live A Rich Life

Are you struggling financially? Do you run out of money before you run out of month? Are you filled with worry and anxiety about the future?

If this is you, I want you to listen. 2020 does NOT have to look like previous years. You don’t have to live a stressed out life. You don’t have to live a life of quiet desperation.

You CAN have a real life (not just work life) and have it more abundantly. You can have success in your finances, success with your family, and you can live in freedom.

Having success in the area of finances, family, and freedom is what I call 360 degree success. If you do not have 360 degree success, you will always feel that something is missing. Listen, having money alone does not make you a success and does not mean you are by any means rich.

You are rich ONLY if your success in the area of finance, family, and freedom?

Financially Rich Secret: To be financially rich, you have to turn from someone who chases wealth to someone who attracts wealth. To do that, you have to be a person who looks to solve other people problems. If you can help solve one problem that a lot of people have, you will be financially.

Give help and you will be given wealth

Family Rich Secret: To be rich in your family relationship simply requires that you look to serve by making sure their needs are met (spiritual, emotional, physical, etc). I am not saying you have to meet these needs (as it is too much to try to do this for everyone), I am saying you have to promote that environment.

Bonus: The one thing you can do be family rich is to seek peace and purse peace with people. It is better to live in peace than prove you are right and live in pieces.

Give peace and your family will prosper

Freedom Rich Secret: A lot of people live in psychological and emotional bondage. I don’t want this to be you! Bondage happens when you hold onto a lie, hold onto the past, hold onto a blueprint. To be free requires that you LET GO. To let go does not mean you are giving up, it just means you won’t allow the things that is holding you back control you any longer.

Let go and you will be let loose

If you are struggling to win in life, I want you to pick up my book, How Anyone Can Build Wealth and Live A Rich on Amazon. It will start you on your journey to recovery.

For reading this as soon as I posted and for reading until the end, I will do something really special for you. I will reward you by making the book available for $1 only on Tuesday 12:00 pm

Set Your Child Up For Success in Life

It is better to prepare the child for the road, than to just prepare the road for the child – Anonymous

How do you prepare your children for the road of life? How do you teach them? What do you instill in to them.

The bible says that if you train up your child in the way they child should go, then your child will not depart from the training when he/she gets old (Prov. 22:6)

While it is right to say this means we need to train up our children to know God, it is incomplete to leave it to such a broad answer. There are details that are important for you to know; details that if you do not know and instill into your child may leave them handicapped on the road of life. Details that if you do not share will leave them unprepared for the road of life.

These details are throughout scripture. Perhaps it is most evident in the God’s public announcement of Jesus after He was baptized in the river Jordan by John the Baptist. After the baptism, God publicly and unashamedly pointed attention to Jesus as He affirmed Jesus’s identity (His Son) with affection (Beloved), and with no strings attached (in whom I am well-pleased is what God said though Jesus had not performed any miracle or fulfilled anything).

This is like parenting 101: Show your child attention, affirmation, and affection. Let them know through words and deed that your love for them is unconditional. This will instill into the security and confidence they need to face the challenges of life.

In 1 Chronicles 22, we are provided with a little more insight into the things that are critical for a child to know. This passage of scripture reveals what King David told His son, Solomon. It is interesting that of all of King’s David sons, Solomon stood out (see the picture that goes with this blog).

If you want your child to standout from the crowd and be successful, then you must share with them, the very things that David shared with Solomon

(1) Confirm Your Child’s Identity (1 Chronicles 22:9): David reminded his son, Solomon of the name given to him by God (for it was God that named him Solomon). Similarly, you have to remind your child of the name that God has given him or her. See, the world will call your child all sorts of names, and in so doing, try to alter their identity. You need to ensure that your child know the name God has given him or her so that they may be rooted in their identity. God calls His children beloved, pearls, treasures, desired, royalty, priests, blessed. You must remind your children that this is what they truly are.

(2) Affirm Your Child’s Purpose (1 Chronicles 22:10): David reminded his son that his purpose was to build the house of God, and by so doing, make his name famous among the countries (1 Chronicles 22:5). Likewise, you must remind your child of the life purpose. In Ephesians 2:10, our life purpose is termed as good works. That means our purpose (generally speaking) is to do good in this world. It is to add value to people and contribute to the good of this world. You must your child that they are force for good. Inspire them to aspire to great things to the glory of God. Be their champion. Let them know they were born to reign in life

(3) Speak Blessings Over Your Child (1 Chronicles 22:11): David blessed Solomon with his words. Likewise, you must bless your child with your words. This does not mean that you refuse to rebuke your child when they go awry. No! Even a rebuke can be a blessing. If you do not believe me, just go read Hebrews 12:11! When I say bless your child, ensure that your words are designed to have a loving and positive impact on your child. And specifically, you should speak blessings over them. And you should do this over and over again.

(4) Teach Your Child God’s Unfailing Principles (1 Chronicles 22:12-13): David reminded Solomon that the commands were there before he (David) was born, and the commands are going to be there after him. God’s commands and principles never change. Moreover, God’s commands and principles bring success when we follow them. Be sure to teach and remind your child of God’s unchanging and infallible principles.

(5) Sow into Your Child’s Future (1 Chronicles 22: 14): David gave Solomon a head start in life by preparing the material Solomon needed to fulfil his purpose. Similarly, we are to do what we can to ensure we give our children the best head start in life. What does that mean for you? Does it mean deciding to put away some money for their college fund? Does it mean investing in high quality tutoring? Does it mean letting them hang around your business so they can learn what you know? Whatever it is, start preparing for tomorrow today.

Why You Should Never Do The Bible

Have you ever heard the saying “Do the bible”. If you have never heard of it, it is short-form of saying ‘Do what is in the bible’. While this advice comes from a good place and is well-meaning…how do I put this gently…it is not right. Let me explain.

The Holy Scriptures are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus – 2 Timothy 3:15

According to 2 Timothy 3:15, the bible is there to make us wise to deliverance through faith in Christ. Said another way, we are not meant to do the bible, we are to allow the bible to build our faith in Christ so that we may be wise to salvation (deliverance from everything evil and deliverance to everything good).

When we allow the bible to point us towards Christ and grow our faith, we find that the Holy Spirit gives us God’s doctrine, corrects us, gives us a conviction of who we are in Christ (identity and position), and instructs us in the way of righteousness – what God desires to do / guidance from God (see 2 Timothy 3:16).

The bible is there to point us towards intimacy with Christ and is not a rule book for us to try to follow in our own strength

Those who think they can obey the Scriptures in their own strength think they can fulfill the law of God on their own (for the bible contains God’s laws). I have seem many believers try to follow what is in the bible in their own strength to the detriment of their own mental well-being.

To try to fulfill the law of God in our own strength is an exercise in futility that leads to disappointment and allows the enemy to bombard us with guilt, shame, and condemnation – leading to oppression, repression, and depression.

If we could fulfill the law of God in our own strength, then Jesus would not have been needed. Therefore trying to do the bible (to fulfill its laws) is akin to playing Jesus and saying to God that Jesus’ sacrifice was not needed. Indeed, this is prideful and arrogant.

Only the flesh tries to fulfill the law of God in its own strength

The bible describes the flesh as a part of us that desires to do things in our own strength. It neglects God’s strength operating in us through the Holy Spirit and wants to make something of itself. Therefore, the flesh is prideful and arrogant. Without knowing it, its desire is to take the place of God. The flesh substitutes grace through faith in Christ, for works through self-effort.

The flesh works but faith rests

It is tempting to want to rely on the flesh. This is because the flesh does not always want to do evil, it also desires to do good. The problem is that it can never do the good it desires to do. While it may desire to do good, it ends up producing evil. That’s why nothing good lies in the flesh.

Apostle Paul warns us about the folly of relying on the flesh. He says not to be bewitched and foolish. He tells us that there is no way we can be perfected through the efforts of the flesh (See Galatians 3).

The purpose of the bible is to lead us to faith and not to lead us to self-effort. Therefore, don’t try to do the bible BUT let the bible build your faith in Christ. The choice is yours: Flesh or Faith.

If you are try to do the bible, you are trying to rely on your flesh. If you allow the bible to build you faith, you won’t try to do the bible for the Holy Spirit will do the bible for you and through you.

One Good Reason To Read The Bible

Holy Scriptures are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus – 2 Timothy 3:15

Holy means to be set apart, and scriptures means writings. Therefore, the Holy Scriptures are writings that are set apart. They are set apart in the sense that they are different from other writings. Moreover, they are writings that help set you apart from the crowd.

The scriptures help you live a life that is set apart and helps you stand out from the crowd

For the Scriptures to be effective requires that we put our faith in Christ Jesus. If you look at 2 Timothy 3:15 closely, you will find that it does not say to have faith in Jesus Christ. This is because after we have faith in Jesus Christ for our eternal salvation, we must put our faith in Christ Jesus for our everyday salvation.

Disclaimer: When I talk about everyday salvation here, I do NOT mean that we have to work and work to maintain our salvation.

There are many who have put their faith in Jesus Christ that have not put their faith in Christ Jesus. Faith in Jesus Christ gives you grace BUT faith in Christ Jesus allows you to walk in grace. This is because faith in Christ Jesus produces humility to the Holy Spirit. And the beauty of humbling ourselves to the leadership of the Holy Spirit is it makes us wise to salvation and releases the grace (unmerited favor and power) of God. This grace over your life is what makes you stand out from the crowd.
