Daily Devotional: September 10 – Man Mountain

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever – Psalm 125:1

Our spiritual stature determines what we go through on the inside when our world is shaken and a flood of trouble comes to overwhelm us from the outside. If we have become like a mountain, then our concerns do not turn to inner conflict and chaos. Faith in Christ makes us as a mountain! Faith makes us unshakeable, though we may be stirred, in times of turmoil. You want to see if someone truly trusts in God? See how they respond in time of trouble. People of strong faith do not consider many things as trouble but rather trials and tests to overcome. Some do not even bring the issues up – they just go through life as if nothing is happening. However we respond, when we develop our faith, we find that we are less exasperated and exhausted. We find that we are cooler, calmer, and more collected. When we build our faith, we find that we become like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved.

Stronger faith makes for a steadier me.

Daily Devotional: August 20 – No Other Word

Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven – Psalm 119:89

Although the word of God is settled in heaven, it is not always settled on earth because the word of God is not always settled in us. The result of the word of God not being settled in the hearts of people is that the will of God is not always followed, and His desires are not always followed. This culminates in the earth not being an awesome place to exist for many people around the world, though God created this world to be an awesome place to live. Consider that the fall of mankind occurred because God’s word was not settled in the heart of the Adam and Eve. He had told them not to eat of the tree of the knowledge of God and evil, but that instruction was not settled in their heart, so they doubted and ate anyway. Today, we continue to fall short of the riches of the grace of God because His words are not settled in our hearts. It is time for us who call ourselves believers to truly believe! Because His word is settled in heaven, His word should settle every argument we have on earth!

If God has said it to me, then I believe it, and that settles it.
