Wake Up America To The Truth About COVID-19

I have seen and been sent information on what COVID-19 is about over the past few months. I have been private messaged, called, and sent Facebook Live video’s on the topic. I have heard an increasing innumerable number of prophesies concerning what is going on and what will happen.

Some of the things I have seen and heard are as follows:

COVID-19 is fake news; it is a strategy to divert attention away from Obamagate; it’s a ploy to get Trump to lose the election; it was designed to take away our freedoms; it’s a vaccine conspiracy masterminded by Bill Gates; it is part of a well thought-out plan to create a New World Order; it is the beginning of the Tribulation (as mentioned in the Book of Revelation); it was created to usher in communism and turn America into Venezuela.

To some, it is all an AGENDA that they have against America (to turn her away from God). To too many, it is anything and everything BUT a true pandemic

Many times, these claims come from and are promulgated by sincere and honest people who seek to inform others about what they believe is going on (based on what they have read from sources they deem credible).

Yet, as sincere as these intentions might be we cannot confuse sincerity and honesty with truthfulness. We need to understand when we have moved away from concern and moved into ardent fear mongering. We need to know the difference between being fed credible information and being fed incredulous stories that has been carefully and intricately weaved to fit a narrative that we are wired to believe…information created to touch all the hot bottom issues to which we are emotionally sensitized.

I was nearly sucked into this cesspool of fear and anxiety until I took a step back and looked at the situation from a wider viewpoint. First, I noticed that most, if not all of the views on the pandemic were America-focused. Second, I noticed that all the explanations had a ridiculously heavy political bent (on each side of the aisle).

Now, I want you to consider this question: Why would the rest of the world shut down their economy, risk political instability, sink themselves deeper into more debt, and create even greater social unrest and deepen the gulf between rich and poor…just to promote a hoax or to alter the political landscape of the U.S? Why wouldn’t they just wait Trump (assuming they disliked him since he has a max of 4 more years to go if he wins re-election)?

Do you really think South Africa or Colombia or Ghana really care about the U.S so much that they would intentionally cripple their own people? The simple is NO!

So here is my take: If the rest of the world is taking such drastic steps, there might be something to this idea that COVID-19 truly is a pandemic.

Now, from a medical perspective, COVID-19 is one of the simplest viruses to deal with. COVID-19 is neither an airborne pathogen (cannot be spread by breathing in the air) nor is it spread by insects.

To stop it, what is mainly required is physical distancing, self-physical isolation (for around 2 weeks), the practice of good sanitation (soap and water destroys it easily).

Given the social interaction technology we have, we don’t actually have to be socially distanced from each other. Note: I make a distinction between physical public distancing and social distancing. We can socially interact via Zoom, Facebook, and other platforms.

Given the manufacturing prowess the world possesses, soap and water or hand-sanitizer should not be an issue (especially in developed nations).

And at least in the U.S, there should be little issues keeping 6 ft separation between groups of people (I haven’t seen shanty towns or Favelas in the U.S). Yet, COVID-19 is a big deal here in the U.S though we are one of the countries best placed to deal with it.

Perhaps COVID-19 is here to tell us about ourselves:

Could it be that COVID-19 is really showing us that we may not care about our fellow man as much as we think we do? That we love putting our own interest above everyone else’s? Could it be that we don’t like being inconvenienced at all? Could it be that we would rather put money ahead of people? Might COVID-19 be showing us that need to stop politicizing everything? Could it be that we can’t stand having someone else telling us what to do (even if it to for our own benefit)?

The truth is that COVID-19 is showing us that our love game is weak.

COVID-19 is has one message: ‘If you choose to put someone else’s interest above your won, you would easily defeat me’

Love is selfless sacrifice to serve and meet the needs of others. Let’s sacrifice for one another America once again. It is time to stop trying to get someone else to sacrifice on our behalf. The military can’t do it this time. We have to find the hero inside of us. It is time to truly love one another. It is time to wake up to LOVE.

Note: It took a year of the bus boycott to get the bus system in Montgomery to be integrated. That is the kind of disciple we need now in choosing to LOVE.

How To Respond To COVID-19 Conspiracy Theories

Have you noticed how many COVID-19 conspiracy theories are out there on social media? I have been sent numerous videos by well-meaning people concerning these theories.

There are people saying this pandemic is about a vaccine conspiracy; its about a new world order; it’s about China trying to take over the world; its a ploy by the Democrats; its the beginning of the end of the world, so on and so forth.

So what should you do with all these conspiracy theories? Should you pay attention to them?

I suggest you do what God told Isaiah to do when it comes to conspiracy theories

The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does. He said, “Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do,
and don’t live in dread of what frightens them. Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble. He will keep you safe.
– Isaiah 8:11-14

See, every time there is danger and uncertainty, there are people who come out with conspiracy theories. Judging from Isaiah 8:11-14, it is clear that God does not want us to pay attention to them. Why? It is because most conspiracy theories are born out of fear…and fear is not of God. Let me clarify…any fear outside of the fear (respect and awe) of God is NOT of God.

So, rather than respect and live in awe of conspiracy theories; rather than allow them to keep you up at night, the best thing to do is focus your attention on God and understand that no matter what happens in this world; no matter how this virus came to be, He will keep you safe and sound.

Don’t be a worrier concerning your future, become a warrior concerning your faith.

Look to God and see what He has to speak to you. Those who have done this find out that God speaks something to them that doesn’t have to do with the virus. Why? God is saying to them “Don’t worry about this virus, I got it…instead think about the areas of your life I am working in”.

Instead of the thinking about conspiracy theories, think about future God is cooking up for you

Don’t Miss the Opportunity Of A Lifetime During This Crisis

You have two choices during this crisis. You can either fall apart or you can fall in place. What you choose will depend on your perspective.

Hopefully, this post will help shift your perspective in a way that allows things to fall into place.

If you are familiar with the gospels, then you know that Jesus (arguably the most successful man that ever lived) was filled with the power of the Holy Spirit when he was baptized in river Jordan (see Luke 3:21 & Luke 4:1)

The interesting thing I want you to consider is that the power he had within him was not unleashed UNTIL he went through a period of 40-days in a harsh desert environment called the wilderness (see Luke 4:14).

This tells me one thing: The wilderness is a place where you and I get to activate the superpower (God given ability) within us.

After Jesus emerged from the wilderness, we was off like a rocket – doing incredible, amazing things that had never been done before. This explains why the Holy Spirit actually led him into the wilderness in the first place!

Though you may not like the wilderness, the wilderness is necessary if you want to fulfill your potential

When I think of the wilderness, I think of a lonely place, disconnected from the world, where people live in an unforgiving environment.

We can parlay this to what is happening today. People are separated from their loved ones. People feel somewhat disconnected from each other. And what is going on seems cruel. Moreover, just like the real wilderness, a lot of people feel helpless during this crisis. In other words, this crisis period represents a wilderness experience.

This means there is an opportunity awaiting us not just to survive this experience BUT to thrive (just like Jesus did) after this experience.

But if we want to survive and thrive, then we must do what Jesus did.

The bible says that Jesus fasted during his wilderness experience. To ‘fast’ is simply to abstain. While the usual practice is to abstain from food (something that we need), in the broader sense, it can be to abstain from something we are used to having or something that we think we can’t do without.

When you are without something you are used to having or something you think you can’t do without, it does two things: (1) It changes your perception of what is important or needed (2) It changes your perception of your own capabilities.

This is the time to really consider what is important to you and to start thinking of ways to achieve it

When Jesus was in the wilderness, he grew his ability to persevere (he did not turn stone into bread), developed his ability to be resolute (he did not listen to crazy suggestions), and decided he was not going to take a shortcut to achieving his goals.

This is an opportunity for us to practice the same and develop the same ideals for our lives.

If we do this now, we will find out by the end of this crisis that we are must better placed to fulfill our highest potential.

Don’t concentrate on what you think you have lost; focus on what you have to gain

If you do this, you will find yourself ready to unleash your superpower when your wilderness experience is over. You will be ready to crush it!

I forgot to mention: Jesus spend 40-days in the wilderness before coming of the place. It looks as if we would have been looked down for ~ 40 days (March 23 – May 1) before we start to come out of it. Make sure you don’t waste the remaining days.

Respond Well To COVID-19: Stand In The Present and Prepare For Your Future

During these times of uncertainty with COVID-19, it can be easy to be paralyzed with fear. It is easy to be overwhelmed with the myriad of opinions and facts in the news. It can be jarring when you go to the market and can’t find items for you home…

To make things worse, you don’t know what is true and what is not…which only makes you more afraid. Perhaps you are waiting and anxious to see what is going to happen and how it is going to affect the population, your business, and the broader economy. You have questions: Will I be safe? Will it be like another Italy? What about my job? Will my business survive?

I am not immune to these concerns but I do want to share something that works for me and will work for you: Instead of worrying about the future, I stand in the present and prepare for the future.

Note: If you are really struggling with fear to the point of panic, I want you to watch a video I recorded on standing in the truth. You can find it on my home page: http://www.richbeyondwealthsystem.com ( watch before March 17) or directly on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emuIKcIPvic

Instead of blaming life for what it gives you, concentrate your energy on making the best of whatever you have. A wise man once said to me: If life gives you manure, make sure you use it to fertilize the land and grow a farming business. It is another way of saying, if life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

Another wise person said: It is not what happens to you that matters, it is what happens in you that matters. Most people survive what happens to them, but many never recover from what happens in them.

There are two things that can happen to you in this moment – fear or faith.

Fear will paralyze you with inaction, but faith will propel you to action.

I want you to choose faith.

Here are the faithful actions I want you to take to stand in the present and prepare for the future:

Stand In The Present:

  • Care: Take all the personal precautions that you can possibly take – practice social distancing (make sure people work from him if possible), sanitize surfaces you touch often, and wash your hands often. For the best information, go to http://www.cdc.gov
  • Communicate: Talk to the people that you lead and serve. Let them know that you care about them and also let them know of the precautions you are taking. Be authentic in your communication BUT make sure you keep them informed. Be honest if there are going to be delays in anything you promised
  • Compassion: The people you are leading and serving may be struggling. If it is in your power to help and add value, do it now. This will mean the world to them. For example, if you are a landlord, you may give additional time for payment or waive the late payment fee.

Prepare for the future:

  • Trim: It is time to take a look at what you are doing and trim away those things that are adding little value. Remember the Pareto Principle: Only 20% of your activities is generating 80% of the value. That means there is some fat that you can trim. Trim that fat the costs you the most and is not bringing much benefit.
  • Try: Times of trouble and uncertainty unwittingly become times of creativity and innovation. You have to do things that maybe you haven’t done before. So be creative and innovative. For example, if you are a brick and mortar business with no online presence, this is the time to start thinking of the possibility of an online presence. Okay, let me be clearer…you NEED to have on online presence for your business

Hope this has been helpful. And remember, this too shall pass!!!
