Daily Devotional: August 29- Waiting Well

Your testimonies, which You have commanded, are righteous and very faithful – Psalm 119:138

What God says and tells us to do (His commands) are both right (righteous) and dependable (faithful). Still, we may fail to do His will because we may not see the immediate results of following His commands. In the waiting season, our impatience tends to kick in, causing us to shift away from His words and take matters into our own hands. The enemy speaks lies to us, telling us that we have not really heard from God or that God has forgotten about us or has changed His mind. This is why we need to remind ourselves of God’s faithfulness in the waiting season. No farmer plants a seed and then migrates away from the land before the seed yields its crop. The farmer instead waters the seed, fertilizes the ground, and removes the weeds growing around the crop. Instead of using the waiting season to question the validity of God’s word, we should use it to question God on what He wants us to do to yield the greatest blessing when His word comes to pass.

I will wait actively rather than wait passively.
