Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, have fellowship with You? – Psalm 94:20
Those presiding over us can either use their position for good or evil. God is not involved when our leaders use their position and platform to devise evil. Though they may profess to have a relationship with God, they are not in close fellowship Him, for those who fellowship with God live in the light and so do not plan dark things. No matter how much a leader quotes the bible or goes to church, the leader’s heart is reflected by the law they are looking to enact. God’s heart is revealed in our love for the poor, the foreigner, the widow, the fatherless, the defenseless, children, and the young and old; His heart is for repentance, reconciliation, and unity. Neither we nor our leaders should cherry-pick just one area Gods heart to the detriment of another area of His heart. Gods heart is for all, and his heart is to benefit all. May our leaders and their policies reflect the heart of God. May our hearts reflect the heart of God in all areas of our lives and in the areas of our leadership.
