Daily Devotional: June 7 – So Grateful

Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise – Psalm 100:4

The people who lived during the dispensation of the Old Covenant had to go into the gates of the temple with their sin offering . Today, under the dispensation of grace, we do not have to go to a temple with a sacrifice. Jesus is our atoning sacrifice that gives us free access to the throne of grace. If we have nothing else for which we should be thankful, we should daily give thanks to God for sending His Son to be our atoning sacrifice. We should be thankful that Jesus has wiped out the handwriting of requirements (the law of Moses) that was contrary to us and against us (Colossians 2:14) in the law can only condemn but never save. We should be thankful that because of Jesus, we have the privilege of having free access to the all-knowing and all-powerful eternal God. Other religions may revere God, but do not know Him. We get the benefit of knowing Him and walking with Him. What an advantage!

I have much to be thankful for because of Jesus
