Daily Devotional: June 18 – Smell the Roses

He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and vegetation for the service of man, that he may bring forth food from the earth – Psalm 104:14

When was the last time you thought of what God created and why? In our busyness, we can forget how small we are compared to all of creation; we forget to consider the beauty and intricacies of the earth in which we live. But when we slow down and really consider the wonders of nature, then we remember how fragile we are; we develop a deeper sense of appreciation for God and His creation; we contemplate our lives and remember the things that are truly important. We remember we have a duty to make the best use of the earth and preserve it for future generations (i.e. He causes vegetation to grow for the service of man). When you have the opportunity, choose to take some time off and take time out from the world to contemplate God’s creation. It will help you reboot, recharge, and prioritize those things that are truly important. Take time to smell the roses!

Slowing down is essential to my overall well-being
