He will not be afraid of evil tidings; His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord – Psalm 112:7
Just because we are visited by evil externally does not mean we have to be affected internally by evil. We can remain steadfast, unmoved, and unshaken when we have developed a deep and real trust in God – His love, His heart, His plans and promises. This goes beyond just saying we trust God but truly trusting Him in our heart. This type of trust comes after cultivating our relationship with God and establishing a close fellowship with Him. Hence, how we respond when evil befalls is a clue to the strength, or lack thereof, of our relationship with God. Take the time now to strengthen your relationship with God so that you can withstand in the day of adversity. When your relationship with God is strong, you can go through the fire without smelling like smoke. You can navigate the depths without succumbing to the flood. You can fall and rise again!
I will stay ready so that I do not have to get ready in the day of adversity
