Daily Devotional: July 18 – No Double Standards

He will bless those who fear the Lord, both small and great – Psalm 115:13

Equity is important. Yet, equity is not about equal results, equal position, or equal share! Equity is about using the same parameter for judgment. We know that God does not favor inequity for the scripture says that uneven weights and scales (double standards) are detestable to Him (Proverbs 20:23). God has no double standards. His parameter for blessing us is the fear of God, regardless of whether we are poor, rich, old, young, man, woman, etc. If we fear Him, we can expect to experience life blessings relative to those who do not fear Him. And if we do not fear Him, we can expect to experience life stresses relative to those who fear Him. This is good news as it simplifies life for us. No matter where we are, we know we can get on the right path by paying attention to Him and paying attention to the purpose to which He has called us. The genuine heartfelt fear of the Lord goes along with the love of the Lord. Therefore, if you want to be blessed, be sure to love Him.

The love of God leads me to be too blessed to be stressed
