I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word, I do hope – Psalm 130:5
Hope can be defined as the expectation of a sure thing. Since there is nothing surer than what God has spoken, real hope is found in word of God. The word that God spoke that the Psalmist was longing for was the coming of Christ. It is because of the coming of Christ that our souls can sing. We have been redeemed, and the Lord no longer marks our iniquities. Our sins are now far away as the east is from the west. Since God is not marking our iniquities, we too should not mark them either. We should not allow our imperfections and issues to pour hot coals over our heads. We should not allow the enemy to condemn us. While Christ’s sacrifice is not an invitation to continue in our wicked ways, it does provide a safety net to those who feel that they are never good enough. We are accepted not because of ourselves but because of Him.
I no longer worry about being accepted because He accepts me
