Daily Devotional: September 13 – Let Go

Those who sow in tears shall reap in joy – Psalm 126:5

Sowing requires that we let go of whatever we are holding unto. Letting go of things that we are accustomed to holding unto can be difficult. Letting go of a relationship, letting go of a job, or letting go and leaving a place that you love can often be painful and lead to tears. While letting go is tough, the act itself can catalyze growth and propel us forward. Friend, there is a promise in letting go in Christ. The promise in Christ is that what comes after we let go to Him is better. If God is telling you to let go of something, it is because He has a better outcome in mind for you. Beloved, what today holds pales in comparison to the future God has in store for you. So yes, you may cry as you let go, but trust that there is much joy coming your way as you do. Letting go is not giving up! Letting go as instructed by God is planting a seed that is sure to germinate into a tree and produce much fruit in your life.

Joy and laughter await as I let go
